Salutari de la Frankfurt! / Greetings from Frankfurt! (En)

Dragilor, va salut cu emotii si entuziasm de la Frankfurt. Iata-ma prezenta la cel mai mare Targ de Carte din lume, prezentand volumul “Ramai la Masa?”, cu care am castigat premiul “Best Tv Chef Book – Europe”, la Gourmand Awards.

Am ajuns de ieri si m-a “izbit” imaginea cartilor aduse de peste tot din lume expuse, traduse, povestite, prezentate sub toate formele posibile. Mirosul de hartie tiparita pluteste in aer, oamenii se plimba dintr-o parte in alta, pe funadal se aud acorduri de pian, simt bliturile jurnalistilor si miros de mancare, in urechi se intalnesc vocile editorilor in cautare de “prospaturi” si toate limbile straine se amesteca pe un zumzet de fond continuu .Hala este mare cat un oras si ai sentimentul ca te poti pierde de tot printre standurile uriase, pe care stau catarate miile de volume. Dupa ce am facut cunostinta cu locul unde urmeaza sa gatesc pentru cei mai tari editori din domeniu, am fost in vizita la standul Ministerului Culturii, unde poti sa gasesti volumul “Ramai la masa?” – in cazul in care doresti cartea si ajungi in week-end la Targ! A fost o placere sa descopar standul Romaniei, frumos amenajat, prietenos si foarte vizitat! Gata cu povestile! Trebuie sa te las, pentru ca ma pregatesc pentru evenimentul mult asteptat! Poate nu pare mult ce mi se intampla, dar sansa asta insemana mult pentru mine, pentru noi, romanii! Iti multumesc ca imi esti aproape! Am plecat! Hai, Romania!

Darlings, I want to send you a big “hello”, full of excitement and enthusiasm from
Frankfurt. Here I am, at the biggest book fair in the world, presenting my book “Will
You Stay For Dinner?”, the book that brought me the “Best Tv Chef Book – Europe”
award, at the Gourmand Awards ceremony.
I arrived here yesterday and was “struck” by the beautiful sight of all the books on
display, brought here from all over the world, translated, unfolded, presented in all
their aspects. The smell of freshly printed paper is in the air, people wander from
side to side, piano music is playing in the background, the journalists’ cameras
flash constantly and you can smell the different flavours of the food being cooked.
My ears are abuzz with the editors’ voices looking for fresh voices, while all the
foreign languages mix in an ongoing background noise. The exhibition hall is the
size of a small town and you get the feeling that you can easily get lost among the
huge stands, loaded with thousands and thousands of books.
After I got familiar with the place where I am about to cook for the best editors in
the field, I hopped by the stand of the Ministry of Culture, where you can find “Will
You Stay For Dinner?” – just in case you want to buy the book and plan to visit the
book fair this weekend! It was a pleasure discovering Romania’s stand, beautifully
fitted out, friendly and well frequented!
But enough with the talking! I have to leave you now as I have to get ready for the
much-awaited event! To some, what is happening right now may not seem much,
but to me, and to us, Romanians, this opportunity means a great deal! Thank you
